FREE NEWBORN PORTRAIT SESSION CONTEST

I ran a contest a few months ago and it was a huge hit! This time around, instead of family photos.....its all about the BELLY! Yep, if you are 6-8 months pregnant, send an image (non-professional) of your cute little baby bump to audrey@andrsn.net and you could win a free newborn session! Valued at $75, the session includes 60-90 mins of time, all edited images on a CD with full printing rights and 10 free birth announcements. ** mom and dad and any siblings will be allowed to join in on a few shots as well **

An album will be created and posted on the Facebook business page on Sunday Dec 19. All photographs must be in by 8am on the 19th. The contest will run through Christmas Day and the winner will be announced at 6pm on Christmas Day!

Please check out the business page for more details:  http://www.facebook.com/notes/audreyandersonphotography/free-newborn-session-contest-rules-and-details/155138437866275

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

The holidays are fast approaching and I am trying my best to get everyone in for sessions! It's been a lot of fun seeing all this "My 1st Christmas" stuff :) Esp since most of them, I did their newborn pictures!

I wasn't sure what to do for Christmas sessions, but everyone wanted to bring their own ideas and props so it all worked. I thought I would take the time to post a few of my favorites from the past few weeks.

Hi, My Name Is Audrey :)

I'm writing this little blog because I had another email today where in the middle of it, I was asked about my name. "can I ask you an odd question?" LOL, believe it or not, I've had more then a handful of clients ask me this same 'odd question'...or something similar anyway. "Do you like your name" "I LOVE your name" "My daughter has the same name" and "I plan on naming my next daughter that name"! How cool is for people to like your work AND your name ;) Honestly, I hated it when I was a kid but as I got into high school, it was nice having a unique name. Of course it's not all that unique anymore as a lot of the more traditional names are coming back in style.

So what about me? Well.....lets see. I've been married to my wonderful husband Steve for 2 yrs now and have 3 great kids. (which you will see featured often :D)  After I had the little one, Brooklyn, I put my career as a Pediatric Nurse on hold so I could stay home with her. I wasn't able to do this with the older 2 so it was nice to have the chance to do so now. Why did I start another career if I had already put a good one on hold? I GOT BORED! While I love being able to be at my children's beckon call, I'm really just not the SAHM type. I needed something for myself. It was only suppose to be here and there and part time but it grew to something even more! I couldn't believe all the people that were interested in having me capture some of the most precious moments in their lives! I was over-whelmed and grateful all at the same time. I've learned a lot over this past year and hope to be able to have a better balance between my personal/family life and my passion for photography in 2011.

Since this segment is about me, here are a few images of my own rugrats.

My Winter Project :)

I tried the whole blogging thing when I first started this whole photography venture but......I didn't get real far
:(. I'm just not a blogger person and didn't really know what to say. Soooooo, I'm gonna give it another shot!

As most of you already know, I specialize in children and babies. And I think I can say 'specialize' honestly as I seem to have become the 'Child Whisperer' :) Believe it or not, all kids are pretty much the same. They all like bribes! lol....Seriously though, you just have to know what kids like and most of all, what they DON'T like. Which is someone always telling them what to do. This is why I always begin the session asking (with the ones that understand and it usually starts around the age of 2) "what do YOU want to do?" This always seems to do the trick. I let them do what they want to do as long as they do a few things I want to do. We work together and it just seems to mesh :)

I do other things as well......weddings, engagements, maternity, seniors and special events. I don't advertise weddings as much because I haven't found the self confidence in doing those as I have with family portraits BUT, if you like my work (which I'm always willing to share) and you want me, GREAT....I'm more then happy to :) I am pleased to say I've even booked my first destination wedding to Daytona Beach next May. I am super excited about this and very honored she chose me to go with her! I've done her family session, engagement session and just last week, her Boudoir session! Oh, did I forget to mention I do those too ;) You can look for those sessions on Facebook under LacePhotography. I felt it was better to keep the two styles separate.

Since starting my business back in Jan (2010), I've booked over 100 sessions and have met tons of great people. Most I like to call friends! I just want to say a HUGE thanks to everyone who believed in me, booked me and stayed with me! Referrals are the biggest form of flattery and I am grateful for each and everyone of them!
